Artist focus: MAT KEMP
London-based artist Mat Kemp, specialises in transforming found objects into works of art that feel both playful and nostalgic.
From his walks around Battersea Park, Mat collects used candy wrappers, as well as uncovering old film and comic book strips. With these materials the artist places each inside of repurposed Nespresso pods to create alternative sculptures and wall pieces. Upon closer inspection you can also find small Subbuteo figures sitting within each pod, giving a double entendre effect where it’s as though the observer is being observed too!
